The exhibition “Making Babies? Egg Donation and Reproductive Politics” takes a close look at the reproductive technique with its social, ethical and economic implications. On the opening day (24.11.2022), a panel discussion was held at the Kornhausforum in Bern.
During the panel discussion, the insights into the lives and backgrounds of “egg donors” as well as the reproductive market in general are deepened. The panel includes a welcome by Pascale Steck (managing director biorespect, Basel) and short lecture on egg donation and the Spanish reproduction market by Taleo Stüwe (medical scientist, Gen-ethisches Netzwerk e.V., Berlin).
In the discussion, the following people participated:
Laura Perler (Postdoc Social and Cultural Geography, initiator of the exhibition)
Tamara Sánchez Pérez (photographer)
Alba Cambeiro Cernadas (egg donor portrayed in the exhibition)
Sabina Rhyner (egg recipient portrayed in the exhibition)
Moderation: Carolin Schurr (Professor of Social and Cultural Geography, University of Bern)
